1st of all, tks to all whose made this site very informative…
My little buddy is 7 months old now; I’ve trained him fairly well to date (no modesty there:p), and he is very obedient all round except for when people are around. He’s not DA or HA at all to date (maturity might change the DA i think)
He’s a very, very obedient guy at home, but as soon as someone he does not know (or for that matter someone he does) visit’s or when I take him to the vet for example his exuberance to meet these new people is astonishing, pulling on the leash, yelping, whining jumping ….he also wont concentrate on what I’m saying doing.
I stay in a small coastal town and there are unfortunately no dog clubs / trainers around who can assist with socialization etc., hence my question: What’s the best way to socialize him towards humans? Will it be the basic sit / stay till calm when meeting people?, or is there a better way?
Any suggestions welcomed
