Oil can be found on the road and marshes near the coast in Waveland, MS on July 8th, 2010. [...] Oil found on beaches near Biloxi, MS on July 8th, 2010. [...] I have been documenting lost and abandoned shoes, which I now efer to as Lost Soles, littering our highways an parks for over 4 years now and have gotten some very compelling images that tell a story. Recently after the BP oil spill disaster I came across a lost, what was once bright white, flip flop, on the oil smeared Pensacola Beach shoreline that I call home and made the scope of the disaster become realized for me. [...] Taken at Pensacola Beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore during the week of June 26 through July 2, 2010. [...] Tar balls and an oil covered water bottle washed up at high tide in Destin, Florida on 6/29/10. So far it’s not too bad in Destin but we can only assume it’s going to get a lot worse in the weeks to come [...] |
