Cross posted from the Department of Transportation blog . “Without the Recovery Act, we would not be here.” Those words were spoken by California Senator Barbara Boxer earlier this month as we broke ground for a new control tower at Palm Springs International Airport. The tower, which will improve safety considerably for the 71,000 takeoffs and landings each year, is one more good airport project made possible by funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act [...] Not knowing what to do, say or where to go for your next pay check is very scary trust me I know I have sat in the unemployment lines, I have been turned down for unemployment and I have bought cobra insurance that is as deadly as the snake they named it after! It’s just not fair being bullied around by the big insurance companies is it? Ill never put my self in that position again! [...] Ill also never ask someone to tell me how much they feel im worth for an hour of my time! Ill never pee in a cup with someone watching again! [...] So, you’ve submitted a killer Curriculum Vitae and supporting documents. You’re ahead of the pack and have just received a call for an interview. What do you do next? [...] The saying, “Looks could kill” is not an understatement. Though the word kill is only used literally and the word look is sometimes associated with stares. But what is being pointed out here is that looks can definitely kill a person’s chances on landing his or her executive job if the applicant had missed one great factor: appearance. [...] |
